Project Free WiFi

About Project Free WiFi

Our mission is simple: bring free internet access to those who need it most.

Project Free WiFi began with a simple observation: in our increasingly connected world, internet access is no longer a luxury - it's a necessity. Yet many people in our communities lack reliable access to get online for essential tasks like job applications, healthcare information, or staying connected with family.

We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to connect. That's why we've created a grassroots initiative to deploy free, temporary WiFi hotspots at community events, parks, and public gathering spaces.

Domenic

Founder, Project Free WiFi

Domenic started Project Free WiFi after seeing firsthand how lack of internet access affected neighbors and community members. What began as setting up a hotspot at a local park has grown into a mission to bridge the digital divide.

"I realized that something as simple as sharing an internet connection could make a real difference in people's lives. A parent could apply for a job. A student could do homework. An elderly neighbor could video chat with grandchildren. These small moments of connection matter."

Why Pop-Up WiFi?

Our temporary, event-based approach offers unique advantages for community connectivity.

Targeted Impact

By deploying at specific events and locations, we can reach people exactly where and when they need connectivity most - at farmers markets, community gatherings, parks, and public spaces.

Low Cost, High Value

Pop-up deployments require less infrastructure than permanent installations, allowing us to stretch every dollar further and serve more communities with limited resources.

Flexibility

We can quickly respond to community needs, setting up at emergency shelters, voting locations, job fairs, or wherever temporary connectivity is needed most.

Community Building

Our presence at local events helps foster connections not just online, but in person. We're not just providing WiFi - we're part of the community fabric.

How We're Funded

Project Free WiFi operates through a combination of personal investment, community support, and in-kind donations.

Personal Investment

This project started with personal funds and equipment. Domenic invested in portable routers, batteries, and mobile hotspot devices to get the initiative off the ground.

Community Donations

Generous community members have contributed to help us expand our reach. Every donation directly supports equipment purchases and operational costs.

Future Goals

We're actively seeking grants and partnerships with local businesses to expand our coverage and increase the frequency of our deployments.

Our Values

Accessibility

Free means free. No sign-ups, no passwords, no data collection. Just connect and go.

Community First

We're neighbors helping neighbors. Our decisions are guided by what benefits the community most.

Digital Literacy

Access alone isn't enough. We partner with local organizations to help people build skills for safe, effective internet use.

Transparency

We're open about how we operate, what data we don't collect, and how we use any funds received.
